NewsDeltas in Times of Climate Change conference - Rotterdam11 May 2010
All those interested in attending the ‘Deltas in Times of Climate Change’ conference can register for this event. This large-scale, international climate conference will take place in Rotterdam from 29 September until 1 October 2010. This conference, on the theme of ‘Deltas in Times of Climate Change’, will bring together a rich pool of scientists, administrators, policymakers and corporate executives from around the globe to share knowledge and experience for the purpose of helping delta cities to prepare for climate change. The conference is organised by the two official Dutch climate research programmes Knowledge for Climate and Climate changes Spatial Planning, and the City of Rotterdam. It is supported by the C40 Climate Leadership Group, the group of world cities tackling climate change. Adaptation to climate change in deltas will be discussed for the first time on such a large scale. Pushing back frontiers Deltas: wealth and great efforts Rotterdam as proud host The fact that Rotterdam was selected to host the conference is a compliment and a logical choice, according to Mayor Aboutaleb: ‘Rotterdam’s climate programme enjoys universal praise, setting an example for other cities around the globe that strive for climate change resilience.’
