C40 Large Cities Climate SummitThe C40 Large Cities Climate Summits are designed to help mayors deliver action in combating climate change. Each summit brings together an unprecedented number of mayors from major cities, their senior staff and business leaders. Through a comprehensive programme of interactive sessions, delegates can share best practices and identify collaborative projects all aimed at tackling climate change. Summits provide an opportunity for C40 cities to further clarify and develop the working relationship of the group. This is done through a number of C40-only meetings. The first summit was held in London in 2005 and the second took place in New York City in May 2007. The third C40 summit was hosted by Seoul in May 2009 and the next summit will take place in Sao Paulo from 31 May to 2 June 2011. |
